Lunenburg Community Pollinator Habitat

Where would we be without pollinators? The answer: Nowhere!

The Lunenburg Community Pollinator Habitat is located in north central Massachusetts in a charming field on town conservation land at 123 Hollis Road. Native trees, shrubs and wildflowers have been planted to sustain our local pollinators, which are in dire need of support. The program’s planting and maintenance is all done by a growing group of dedicated volunteers.

It all began when Ginny Albertson knew she had to do something to help make a difference. So in early 2016 she approached her town conservation commission with a plan and to her delight they recognized the need for this project. They granted her the use of conservation land and have continued to be supportive every step of the way. They offer an open house with a guided tour in early summer and latesummer, to help educate the public.

Helen and her students look forward to all their events and wandering through the field playing their Native American Style Flutes. They all love what these folks do, educating the community on the importance of pollinators for a healthier planet and encouraging everyone to attract them in their own mini ecosystems.
